Karen is a Partner and Head of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution teams

Karen Bright joined the firm in 2007 and has over 20 years of litigation experience. Karen’s specialisms include acting for clients in the Property Tribunals in relation to Landlord and Tenant issues, as well as acting  in insolvency proceedings. In addition Karen regularly acts for client in the County Courts, High Court and the Appeal Courts.

Karen regularly acts for both landlords and tenants in the First Tier Property Tribunal, Upper Tribunal and County Court. Her work includes advising on forfeiture of leases, injunctions, nuisance, recovery of service charges and rent, and possession work.

Her expertise extends to both personal and corporate insolvency, often acting for the Liquidator or Trustee in Bankruptcy. Her work in this field includes advising on bankruptcy, corporate insolvency, winding up, administration, receiverships, asset tracing, advising liquidators and trustees on applications to set aside preferential transactions and those at an undervalue.

Prior to joining Bishop & Sewell, she worked at medium sized firm based in Hertfordshire and London and trained at a firm in Luton, which is known for its litigation and insolvency work.
