Last Friday we held our annual Jeans for Genes Day in the office which is spearheaded by Ossie in our Residential Property Department each year to raise money which will go towards helping children with life-changing genetic disorders.
Why support Jeans for Genes Day ?
There are around 6,000 genetic disorders. It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and around 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year. For some 500,000 children in the UK, this is life-altering for them.
Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adolescence.
Here at Bishop & Sewell, we had no trouble in being on trend for Jeans for Genes Day by wearing “double denim” for a good cause. A big thank you to Amy in our Landlord & Tenant team for organising this event.
So far this year we have also supported The Great Legal Bake, International Women’s Day, The London Legal Walk and Breast Cancer Care.
See our CSR page for more news about the other causes we support.
