Bishop & Sewell

Rachel is a Senior Solicitor in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution teams

Rachel Waller joined Bishop & Sewell following the merger with Fisher Meredith in August 2017. She originally joined Fisher Meredith in April 2010 as a trainee, and qualified as a solicitor in April 2012.

Rachel’s work focuses on claims relating to Property, Land and Estates, and contract law, with many cases amounting to complex litigation. A great deal of the substantive law she deals with is environmental, including Nuisance and Negligence as well as neighbour/boundary disputes, and matters arising from Trusts, including contentious probate.

In addition, Rachel acts in relation to breaches of Data Protection and privacy, with a particular interest in the developing area of civil legal remedies connected to online abuse and trolling. As such, the matters she deals with often include elements of defamation and harassment.

Rachel also acts in relation to Inquests and associated claims.

The background to Rachel’s cases often involve sensitive and emotionally challenging subjects, frequently encompassing elements of capacity and discrimination, and as such Rachel has experience of dealing with matters in the Court of Protection.

Given the complexity and breadth of the matters she deals with, Rachel is adept at identifying imaginative and novel solutions to her cases, including seeking equitable or practical remedies, and by enterprising use of Civil Procedure.

About Me

My interests: Outside of work I enjoy being with my family and friends, and socialising, particularly when good food, wine and interesting discussions are involved. Where time allows I indulge myself with time at a theatre or gallery. I unwind by spending time in nature and permaculture gardening.

Alternative career choice: If I hadn’t been swayed to fight the good fight as a lawyer, I would have been a humanitarian aid worker.”
