The Solicitors Regulation Authority has intervened into a number of firms within the PM Law Group. Those firms have ceased acting. Their files and client monies are now under regulatory control.

The SRA notice can be found here.

Bishop & Sewell Residential Property Solicitors

Bishop & Sewell has acted in residential and commercial property matters across London and beyond for over 40 years.  We are an independent law firm and are not connected to PM Law Group in any way and we may be able to provide immediate support and guidance to clients who are affected by the intervention into PM Law.

Our expert conveyancing solicitors are available to assess your position and, where instructed, bring matters to a proper conclusion.

What the intervention into PM Law means in practice

It is important to understand that an SRA intervention does not automatically finalise:

  • Pending Land Registry applications
  • Outstanding requisitions
  • Contractual obligations
  • Lender reporting requirements
  • Post-completion formalities

Without oversight, applications may be cancelled and contractual exposure may increase.

These matters require prompt attention.

When You Should Seek Advice

You should consider seeking advice if:

  • You have completed but have not received confirmation of registration
  • You have received correspondence from the SRA
  • You are uncertain whether lender requirements have been satisfied
  • Your transaction was mid-process when PM Law ceased acting

How Bishop & Sewell’s Residential Property team can assist

Depending on your circumstances, we can:

  • Review the status of a pending Land Registry application
  • Obtain and analyse file material from the intervention agent
  • Advise on incomplete purchases, sales or remortgages
  • Assess contractual exposure following exchange
  • Provide a structured proposal for progressing the matter

The first step is clarity as to your current position and we can assist to:

  • Undertake verification of what has and has not been completed
  • Identify residual exposure
  • Liaise with the appointed intervention agent
  • Provide communication with lenders and counterparties
  • Ensure orderly progression of Land Registry applications

Our Fee Approach

In appropriate cases, we are offering a proportionate fixed-fee arrangement for assisting with existing Land Registry applications that have already been lodged.

This work requires careful review of inherited material and close supervision of outstanding steps. It is not undertaken as a commercial opportunity, but to ensure affected clients have access to experienced, regulated solicitors able to stabilise their position without unnecessary additional burden

Where we can assist within a defined scope, we will do so transparently.
