London law firm Bishop & Sewell LLP has partnered with Zenplans, a market-leading digital estate planning platform, to help clients and their advisors to conveniently and securely manage their affairs online.
Zenplans provides law firms and other advisers with digital tools to help their clients organise, store and share personal information securely via an interactive online portal.
The cloud-based technology uses best in class encryption and provides a tiered permissions system to keep information, such as wills and details about financial or digital assets, safe and readily available when needed.
Nicholas Barlow, Partner and Head of the Private Client team at Bishop & Sewell, led the project to implement the adoption of Zenplans. He said: “As organisations take steps to shift to a paperless model, information is increasingly digital, so having access to a secure, user-friendly online repository will bring real benefits for our clients when administering their estates, or when managing affairs on behalf of a loved one.
“Zenplans provides a very neat solution to the question of how to conveniently organise and manage clients’ assets and affairs using new technology. We have been very encouraged by the positive experiences other law firms have reported with the platform, and by Zenplans’ rigorous approach to data security.
“The platform is a fantastic tool which helps to bring clients’ important estate information together into a single, secure inventory, akin to a digital filing cabinet. Once an account is set up, it can be shared with named individuals, advisors or executors, providing instant remote access to information at the appropriate time.
“One of the key benefits of adopting Zenplans is that it will add value to the client relationship, particularly by improving timely access to key information, delivering convenience for the user, and providing reassurance that the necessary information about the estate is properly accounted for. Looking ahead, the platform will also act as an ongoing touchpoint to engage with clients, helping to build relationships and introduce our legal services to the next generation of prospective clients.”
Stephen Moses, Managing Director of Zenplans, said: “We are excited to partner with Bishop & Sewell to help clients manage and protect their affairs in today’s increasingly digital world. Bishop & Sewell’s client commitment to delivering innovative solutions that consistently exceed expectations makes this collaboration a perfect fit, and we look forward to enhancing the client experience together.”
Bishop & Sewell is currently training its staff on the new system and will roll out the Zenplans platform to clients later this month.
Nicholas concluded: “Zenplans provides a neat solution to some of the emerging issues around estate planning in a digital world. Investing in a modern digital service like Zenplans demonstrates to our clients that we are a forward-thinking law firm that will embrace technological solutions to improve client service.”
