Bishop & Sewell’s next legal webinar will provide Leaseholders, Freeholders and Agents with essential insights into the ramifications of the Duval* decision, which continues to impact what works can and cannot be done when making alterations to a residential leasehold property.

Delivered by Partners Mark Chick and Chris Macartney from the firm’s renowned Landlord and Tenant team, the free online webinar ‘Leasehold Question Time – Alterations and Duval’ will take place on Wednesday 28 June between 5pm and 6pm.

Mark Chick, Senior Partner and Head of the Landlord and Tenant team at Bishop & Sewell, said: “For those of us dealing with Landlord and Tenant law on a daily basis, the Duval case is troubling on a number of different levels. The Supreme Court’s decision in May 2020 raises certain challenges for those looking to obtain or grant consents to works in a leasehold property.

“This webinar will explore the issue of conversions, improvements and alterations, and the matter of consent, before considering absolute bans and “qualified” restrictions, “demised premises”, and the challenges faced when an inconsistent approach to identical works appears to be in play.”

There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions, but delegates must pre-register to attend. Further information about the webinar and information on how to book a place can be found at: Webinar: Leasehold Question Time: Alterations and Duval by Bishop and Sewell LLP (bigmarker.com)

We look forward to welcoming you to the webinar.
