On Friday, we held our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning 2019 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support to help raise money for people facing cancer and took the opportunity to catch up over coffee and cake with colleagues for a great cause.
The money we raised made a modest but helpful contribution to the £200 million which has been raised by Macmillan since 1990.
The first ever Coffee Morning was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, Macmillan did it again the next year – only this time nationally.
Macmillan understand how cancer can affect people’s whole lives – health, money, family, job; everything. After more than 100 years of caring, they understand that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients.
Macmillan take’s the time to understand the support people need to live their lives as fully as they can. From the moment of diagnosis and whenever they’re most needed, they’re available to help people find their best way through. Their help is totally focused on each individual person, so everyone receives the support that’s best for them.
One in two of us will face cancer, and the money we all raise helps make sure no one has to face it alone.
A big thank you to Amy in our Landlord & Tenant team for organising this event.
So far this year we have also supported The Great Legal Bake, International Women’s Day, Little Haven’s Hospice, The London Legal Walk and Care after Combat. See our CSR pages for more news about the other charities and causes we support.
