Bishop & Sewell
Flower

As part of our involvement with the local community in Bloomsbury and to attract and engage with upcoming legal talent, Bishop & Sewell have joined forces with City Law School in Holborn to launch an inaugural Legal Research Award for LPC students.

Open to all of the school’s law students, the competition is aimed at complementing the recent incorporation of legal research as a mandatory subject in the LPC solicitor’s course which has been recognised as a key skill for any aspiring solicitor by the Law Society and SRA.

The competition will take place during April and May 2019 and will require students to research and present a legal memorandum based on a real-life case. The winner will be selected from a shortlist of 10 submissions and receive a small bursary and a week’s work experience at Bishop & Sewell. Prizes will also be awarded for second and third place at the award ceremony to be held at our Russell Square offices in late May.

Legal Research Award

The Legal Research Award is a great way for Bishop & Sewell to support local students, encourage research skills and to understand the needs of law schools in anticipation of the new SQE (Solicitors’ Qualification Examination).

For more information on this award, please contact Simon Cohen on scohen@bishopandsewell.co.uk or Kevin McCann.
