Margaret Heathcote, a Consultant Solicitor in our Family & Divorce team has been named National Chair of Resolution at its 30th National Conference in Bristol on 20th April 2018.

Resolution, which was formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association, is an organisation of 6,500 family lawyers and other professionals in England and Wales, who believe in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Resolution also campaigns for improvements to the family justice system. Learn more here.

Margaret joined Bishop & Sewell as a Consultant in 2012. She has specialised in family law for the whole of her career, her first job after graduating from university being at the Principal Registry of the Family Division, then based at Somerset House. After qualifying as a Solicitor, Margaret worked with some of the best known family specialists in the country, including John Cornwell (with whom she trained), a family law pioneer and the founder of Resolution.

Margaret also sits on their National and Executive Committees, along with its Standards, Pensions, Tax and Financial Remedies Committees.
