What is deferment rate?

The deferment rate is part of the calculation that is used to work out how much a lease extension or share of freehold will cost. Whilst it is a technical subject if you would like to know more about how the premium that you will pay (or receive, if you are a landlord) is calculated then it may be helpful to have a basic understanding of this concept.

Mark Chick has recently had an article published on the site Leasehold Life a link to which appears below:

If you would like to know more about what it will cost to buy your freeholdĀ  or extend your lease then you will need valuation advice. We can help recommend you to a specialist surveyor who can help with this. In the meantime, if you would like a general idea about the capital cost of a lease extension on your flat, then by all means have a look at our handy lease extension calculator.

If you would like to know more, or have a general enquiry about buying your freehold or extending your lease, or a leasehold matter generally, please email us at leasehold@bishopandsewell.co.uk or telephone 020 7631 4141 and ask to speak to a member of the Landlord and Tenant Team.
