| Career: | Karen trained at Machins Solicitors in Luton. On qualification in March/April 2002 she moved to the Insolvency and Litigation team at Wedlake Saint in London. Karen Joined Bishop & Sewell in January 2007. Karen has over 7 years experience in litigation and insolvency. Karen’s work includes: Commercial litigation including contractual disputes such as disputes over terms and conditions in agreements, the standard of works and services provided, company disputes involving directors and shareholders and contentious probate matters. Karen has recently been involved in a 3 day contentious probate matter in the High Court, which contained allegations of fraud and forgery of a disputed will. Bishop & Sewell LLP acted on behalf of the Defendant who was the individual accused of these offences and was the main beneficiary under the will. The High Court found in our client’s favour and concluded that our client was not guilty of fraud or forgery. Landlord and Tenant disputes including commercial and residential possession work, service charge disputes, termination of business tenancies and injunctions for breaches of lease such as unauthorised alterations and nuisance. Insolvency, both personal and corporate contentious insolvency. This includes compulsory winding up of companies, the issuing of bankruptcy petitions, asset tracing, applications to set transactions at an undervalue aside and advice on preferential payments made to defraud creditors. |
